Position Overview
AECOM is actively seeking a dedicated Traffic Management Operations Leader for immediate employment at one of our client traffic operations facilities. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily functions of the traffic management center, ensuring effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the traffic management center, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
- Supervise staff performance and ensure the timely completion of projects and tasks.
- Utilize agency software to monitor traffic signals and manage maintenance workflows.
- Collaborate with traffic signal engineers to implement special event traffic management strategies.
- Coordinate with local government agencies regarding traffic management for significant events.
- Lead control room operators in daily monitoring and system verification tasks.
- Conduct field assessments to evaluate and provide feedback on traffic management plans.
- Engage with city officials and stakeholders regarding traffic operations and event coordination.
- Perform real-time reviews of traffic signal operations during peak hours and special events.
- Establish relationships with relevant stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide regular updates to project managers and city traffic management personnel.
- Support engineering and operational teams with additional tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Flexibility in scheduling for special events and emergencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with diverse audiences.
- Technical literacy in English.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with traffic management systems and intelligent transportation systems.
- Leadership experience in a supervisory role.
- Field experience in traffic management or construction.
