Key Responsibilities- Develop Test Solutions: Design and implement automated testing systems for RF and mixed signal hardware, including frequency converters, RF amplifiers, oscillators, software-defined radios, and data converters.
- Characterize and Calibrate Performance: Measure and analyze the performance of Astranis radio subsystems, including gain, nonlinearity, phase noise, frequency drift over temperature, emissions compliance, EVM, and BER.
- Develop and Manage Test Plans: Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure testing validates design requirements and develop test plans to meet project timelines.
- Develop Python Libraries: Create and utilize Python libraries for interfacing with test instruments, units under test, and results processing.
- Validate and Qualify Hardware Designs: Interpret results and provide feedback to hardware designers to ensure hardware meets space environment requirements.
- Recruit and Hire Team Members: Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to support the growth of our team.
- Bachelor of Science Degree: In Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent background knowledge.
- 6+ Years of Experience: In RF and mixed signal testing, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming in Python or other high-level scripting languages.
- Experience with Test Equipment: Familiarity with standard test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other RF and mixed signal test equipment.
- 2+ Years of Experience in Communications or RF Systems: Testing and validation of communications or RF systems, with a strong understanding of digital communications concepts.
- Test Automation Experience: Experience with test automation, including the development and implementation of automated testing systems.
- Strong Grasp of Digital Communications Concepts: A deep understanding of digital communications concepts, including modulation, demodulation, and error correction.
- Experience with FPGAs or Software-Defined Radios: Familiarity with FPGAs or software-defined radios, including design, development, and testing.
- Familiarity with Test and Qualification of Electronics for Space: Experience with the test and qualification of electronics for space environments, including the development of test plans and procedures.

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
$150,000 - $225,000 USD
U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required
