Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our New Shepard program. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and managing systems engineering processes, standards, and tools for the New Shepard software and avionics system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain systems engineering processes for software and avionics on New Shepard, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and Safety and Mission Assurance teams to ensure compliance with software development assurance standards.
  • Evaluate and perform reviews of software artifacts, ensuring they meet system requirements and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy safety culture, participating in regular safety reviews and audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the aerospace industry, with 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong system safety and mission assurance fundamentals.
  • Experience interpreting and assessing compliance to software standards (e.g. RTCA DO-178, DO-278).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with development, integration, test, and qualification of safety-critical software.
  • Participation in development of industry software safety and assurance standards.
  • Process ownership and maintenance experience.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $170,805.00-$239,127.00 (CA), $157,053.75-$219,875.25 (CO), $170,805.00-$239,127.00 (WA).
