We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements, as well as providing strategic financial guidance to our leadership team.
Responsibilities- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Revenue Management: Manage revenue team, revenue reporting, and ensure compliance with ASC 606.
- Cash Reporting: Assist with weekly cash reporting and other KPI reporting as requested.
- Investment Accounting: Help Controller with accounting for and reporting on investment activity.
- Close Process: Oversee revenue-related monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Lender Reporting: Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly lender reporting.
- Internal Controls: Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of internal controls and procedures.
- Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis and provide insights to management.
- External Audit: Assist with coordination and completion of external audit.
- Financial Systems: Maintain and improve financial systems and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings, including quarterly tax estimates, business license registrations, and annual reporting requirements.
- Special Projects: Provide support for special projects, M&A, and financial analysis as needed.
- Staff Management: Ability to hire, train, coach and help mentor a growing accounting staff.
- General Ledger: Support the company's accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the SaaS industry or a strong understanding of SaaS business models and revenue recognition principles.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 842, and other regulatory requirements.
- External Audit: Experience supporting external audits.
- Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
