Position Summary:
Under the direct guidance of departmental leadership, this role involves performing phlebotomy collections of whole blood and apheresis products. Engaging with donors and coordinators, the position demands a high level of customer service to ensure an exceptional donation experience. A commitment to delivering high-quality services is essential. The role requires collaboration and support within the team, contributing positively to team goals. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for operating the mobile collection vehicle and safely transporting the mobile staff.

Responsibilities:
With a valid CDL, the individual may operate mobile collection buses. Adhering to all DOT regulations, they will safely transport staff, supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely arrival at collection sites.

Understanding and complying with all relevant regulatory and compliance standards is crucial.

Perform phlebotomy procedures.

Recruit and convert donors for automation.

May assist in preparing and packing units for transport.

Monitor donors for reactions, providing care and assisting colleagues as needed.

May offer post-reaction care at mobile drives, including assessing recovery and coordinating care with host organizations.

Schedule future donation appointments for donors.

Travel to various local collection sites as required by business needs.

Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts is necessary.

Create a safe environment for both donors and staff members.

Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including troubleshooting as needed.

Ensure product integrity and accurate identification of all donors.

Complete departmental records and maintain organization as required.

May assist in validating new processes or equipment.

Review daily work for accuracy and address unexpected results appropriately.

Other duties as assigned.

Adhere to all organizational policies and standards.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 1-3 years of relevant customer-facing experience preferred; less than 1 year of job-related experience may be acceptable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Valid driver's license with prior driving experience required; valid CDL with air brakes endorsement (B) required.

Familiarity with standardized work routines, general information, and the use of basic equipment is necessary, typically acquired through on-the-job training.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, safety rules, and maintenance instructions is essential.

Basic mathematical aptitude is required.

Ability to apply judgment to written or oral instructions is necessary.

Organizational skills to maintain productive workflow are required.

Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively with a team is essential.

Strong attention to detail is necessary.

Effective communication skills, including the ability to provide constructive feedback to peers, are required.

Ability to learn and utilize computer applications such as Ceridian, Hemasphere, Oracle, and HemaTerra is essential.

Tools and Technology: Proficiency with personal computers (desktop, laptop, tablet) and general office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine) is required.

Familiarity with vehicle navigation systems and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is necessary.
