Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider Pain Management Specialist

Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our interventional pain management practice at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to provide collaborative medical care and treatment with our interventional pain management physicians. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and seeking a role where they can make a significant contribution to the ongoing development and direction of our growing interventional pain management practice.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess and diagnose patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused examinations and medical histories.
  2. Interpret diagnostic studies to assess patient problems and health care needs.
  3. Prescribe, recommend, and/or employ medical treatment in accordance with approved policies and with attention to efficacy and safety.
  4. Counsel patients and/or families regarding medical processes, management of the health illness, and the proposed treatment plan.
  5. Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes.
  6. Develop an ongoing plan for healthcare with an emphasis on prevention and self-care with the patient and family when appropriate.
  7. Assist with procedures as delegated by the physician.
  8. Perform peer-to-peer reviews when necessary for insurance approval.
  9. Conduct timely follow-up, prioritizing patient phone calls that require advanced clinical judgement and/or are of a complex nature.
  10. Regularly communicate with other office staff to ensure patient needs are met.
  11. Contribute to the professional development of others by sharing knowledge and skills, providing and accepting feedback, and contributing to the education of staff and students.

Requirements:

  1. Master's Degree in Nursing with National Certification as an Adult, Acute Care, or Family Nurse Practitioner or Masters from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and national certification from NCCPA or AAPA.
  2. Current unlimited Indiana State license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
  3. Requires unlimited Indiana controlled substances registration certificate.
  4. Requires unlimited DEA.
  5. Current BLS Certification.

Preferred Experience: Previous experience with interventional pain management preferred. Previous experience with neurosurgery preferred.

Work Environment:

  1. Able to sit for an extended period of time in focused work.
  2. Long periods of telephone and computer work.
  3. Mobility within a health clinic setting.
  4. Able to stand for long hours.
  5. Manual dexterity necessary.
  6. Occasional lifting involving patients, as well as occasional lifting or moving of medical equipment and supplies.
  7. Able to remain calm and composed when interacting with patients and/or family members.
  8. Able to pay attention to detail for long periods of time.
  9. Work under time constraints.
  10. Environmental Conditions to include frequent contact with blood and other body fluids, as well as exposure to air or surface borne illnesses.
