Position Summary

The Certified Medicine Aide administers medications and medicated creams to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and administer routine and PRN medications to patients as prescribed by physicians and document administration according to policy.
* Maintain medication supplies, clean and restock medicine carts and medicine rooms.
* Notify pharmacies of new medication orders and refills.
* Perform accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy.

Requirements

* Successful completion of a state-approved medication aide training course is required.
* Completion of a state-approved certified nursing assistant training program is necessary.
* One year of experience as a certified nursing assistant is preferred.
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently is essential for effective patient communication and safety.
