Job Description:
This position is located at Lakewood Continuing Care Center, where you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, as well as changing linens. You may also transfer or transport patients.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate and interact with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to maximize successful customer outcomes and unit function.
- Precept team members on job functions.
- Orient patients to hospital environment and routine.
- Attend and serve on one unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and/or engagement.
- Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
- Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow-up.
- Provide care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
- Label and deliver specimens per policy.
- Maintain a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; report and directly address environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
- May perform other duties upon request.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have a High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED) and be certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant. You should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
