Job Title: Clinical Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Halifax Health. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy to our patients.

Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian will work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocol/guidelines.
  • Utilize hospital policies and procedures to provide timely and appropriate nutrition intervention and therapy within the scope of practice defined by the hospital.
  • Develop a therapeutic plan of specialized nutrition support, including enteral and/or parenteral nutrition.
  • Provide recommendations for an individualized plan for nutrition intervention.
  • Adhere to budget restraints, managing resources (time and materials) in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain dietetic registration, state licensure, and continuing education requirements.
  • Serve as an evidence-based resource for other healthcare professionals and the community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
  • Florida Department of Health Dietitian/Nutritionist license required.
  • At least one year of experience in the acute care setting preferred.
  • Experience using Meditech, electronic medical record, and CBORD, nutritional software-preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable with the National Research Council's Recommended Dietary Allowances.
  • Experience in calculation needs for pediatric, adult, and elderly patients-preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate patient nutrition needs to the physician, nursing staff, and other appropriate staff.
