Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Bowery Residents Committee. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for managing client caseloads, developing treatment plans, and providing direct services to individuals struggling with substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client caseloads and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide direct services, including substance abuse counseling, case management, and referrals
  • Perform intakes, screenings, and assessments to identify client needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency first aid/CPR assistance as needed
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Certified Addiction Counselor (CASAC-T) license
  • Experience in providing direct services related to substance abuse treatment and recovery
  • Knowledge of alcoholism treatment and familiarity with 12-step programs
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in electronic health records
