The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Contract and Administration Unit Lead to join the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating large payments and contract procurement activities for the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment. This is a challenging opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a team of experienced professionals.

About the Role

This role requires a strong understanding of public works contracting methods and procedures, as well as experience in procurement administration. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. In addition to their technical expertise, they must also possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate large payments and contract procurement activities for the Bureau
- Supervise a team of analysts and provide guidance on procurement procedures
- Monitor contract compliance and ensure timely submission of reports
- Assist with the maintenance of the procurement document management system

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of full-time experience in program evaluation, contract negotiations/management, business or public administration. They must also possess 18 months of administrative, managerial or executive experience, or supervising professional personnel performing work in program evaluation, contract negotiation/management, business or public administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
