We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team at Data Business Equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, reverse logistics, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Direction: Lead and direct the work activities of Logistics team personnel on a daily basis to ensure all relevant processes and procedures are followed and provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
- Inventory Management: Maintain DBE's equipment and service parts inventory with a high level of accuracy, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and organization while meeting the needs of our customers on a daily basis.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Ensure adequate staffing to meet business needs through proper scheduling and planning at all times.
- Inventory Optimization: Evaluate, plan, allocate, and maintain appropriate inventory levels in company warehouses, field stocking locations, and technician car stock inventories while ensuring cost efficiency and maintaining financial objectives.
- Fleet Management: Manage the fleet of company vehicles, including vehicle procurement, maintenance, reporting, and lifecycle management.
- Supply Chain Management: Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments.
- Vendor Relationships: Develop robust long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Process Improvement: Lead projects that improve inventory optimization and create capacity expansion.
- Inventory Analysis: Monitor inventory and determine obsolescence for item disposition on a quarterly basis.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform root-cause analysis of Logistics process failures and take appropriate corrective actions as necessary.
- Carrier Selection: Select carriers and negotiate contracts and rates to improve service delivery and manage logistics costs in consultation with VP Technical Services and SVP of Service as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience.
- Experience: 7+ years' experience in order management, production planning, scheduling, inventory control, manufacturing, or distribution operations in a multi-facility environment. APICS Certification preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent problem identification and follow-through to issue resolution, ability to create and maintain inventory reports, strong critical thinking skills, exceptional customer service skills, effective customer and co-worker communication, ability to effectively prioritize and manage time, and exceptional organizational skills.
