Position Overview:
We are in search of a proactive and skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to become a vital part of our team within the manufacturing sector.
This is a permanent role that presents a significant opportunity to foster a culture of safety and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations at all levels.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in environmental health and safety, with experience in managing EHS programs in a manufacturing context.
Key Responsibilities:
As an EHS Manager, your duties will include:
- Formulating, executing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives to guarantee compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Conducting routine audits and inspections to pinpoint potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Designing and delivering training sessions to inform employees about safety protocols, accident prevention, and environmental responsibility.
- Investigating workplace incidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and leadership to devise strategic plans for ongoing enhancements in safety and environmental performance.
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of all necessary environmental permits, reports, and documentation.
- Leading the company's emergency response strategy and acting as the primary contact during crises.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, new regulations, and best practices in EHS management, and integrating this knowledge into company programs.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS capacity within a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EHS management systems.
- Capability to respond effectively to emergencies and manage high-pressure situations.
- A commitment to staying informed about the latest advancements in the field and pursuing necessary training.
