Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to become a vital part of our team within the manufacturing sector.

This is a permanent role that presents a significant opportunity to foster a culture of safety and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations at all levels.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in environmental health and safety, with experience in managing EHS programs in a manufacturing context.


Key Responsibilities:

As an EHS Manager, your duties will include:

  • Formulating, executing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives to guarantee compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Conducting routine audits and inspections to pinpoint potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Designing and delivering training sessions to inform employees about safety protocols, accident prevention, and environmental responsibility.
  • Investigating workplace incidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and leadership to devise strategic plans for ongoing enhancements in safety and environmental performance.
  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of all necessary environmental permits, reports, and documentation.
  • Leading the company's emergency response strategy and acting as the primary contact during crises.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, new regulations, and best practices in EHS management, and integrating this knowledge into company programs.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS capacity within a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EHS management systems.
  • Capability to respond effectively to emergencies and manage high-pressure situations.
  • A commitment to staying informed about the latest advancements in the field and pursuing necessary training.
