Clinical Nurse Coordinator

DaVita is in search of a Clinical Coordinator who is passionate about enhancing the lives of patients in an outpatient dialysis environment.

Your role will significantly impact the lives of individuals and their families facing end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in dialysis nursing is essential.
  • Oversee patient care and services for those with ESRD (monitor lab values, track vital signs, manage outcomes, etc.)
  • Ensure that you and your clinical team provide the highest standard of care, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and well-being.
  • Training may occur in various facilities or training clinics outside of your designated home clinic.
  • Flexibility to work across different clinics during and after training is required.
  • A flexible schedule is necessary, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Provide care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, requiring tailored treatment plans and a diverse set of nursing skills and knowledge.
  • Supervise a group of patients with the assistance of Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) for patient monitoring, vital statistics, and equipment setup.
  • Engage your intellect, compassion, and skills daily in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • At least 18 months of experience in registered nursing is required.
  • Approval for Dialysis Charge RN readiness by Clinical Nurse Manager or RN-licensed FA/GFA is necessary.
  • Certification as a Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) is preferred.
  • Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) settings is advantageous.
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) is preferred; a three-year diploma from an accredited program may substitute for a nursing degree.
  • Completion of training approved by the medical director and governing body as per CMS guidelines is required before operating the water treatment system.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred; willingness and ability to supervise are essential.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook are required.
