Role Summary and RequirementsThe Rehabilitation Nursing Coordinator (RNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all operations within the unit/department during their assigned shift. Collaborating with other management team members, the RNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with patient admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient operations and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engages in the continuous evaluation of the quality of care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other management team members.
- Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that promotes improved outcomes and service.
- Advocates for a patient-first approach and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Supports facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including staff rounding and other programs.
- Provides input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommends and executes actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a superior organization.
- Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
- Aids in inventory management and assists with the oversight of supplies and equipment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Registered Nurse credentials.
