About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Bathing Specialist to join our team at PetIQ. As a key member of our grooming team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pet care services that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pet Handling and Safety: Safely restrain and hold pets for various wellness procedures, including nail trims, anal gland expression, and clipping.
  • Service Recommendations: Provide personalized recommendations for services and products based on each pet's lifestyle and needs.
  • Microchip Scanning: Scan pets for microchips to ensure accurate identification.
  • Sanitation and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting surfaces and equipment between each pet.
  • Culture of Safety: Promote a culture of safety in the salon and live our values, while reinforcing our brand promise with pet parents, partners, and team members.
  • Performance Metrics: Achieve goals set by your manager, including dollars per pet, pets per clinic, preferred product sales, and microchip sales.
  • Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with pet parents and partners.
  • Payment and Discharge: Collect payment, dispense medication, and review discharge paperwork with pet parents.
  • Bathing Services: Perform bathing services, including baths tailored to each pet's type, as requested by pet parents.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Industry-relevant experience and understanding of canine behaviors.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with time and attendance/HR software, scheduling databases, and iPad technology.
  • Scheduling: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evening shifts.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to community events may be requested.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Safe Pet Handling: Experienced with safe pet handling techniques.
  • Grooming Skills: Experience with brushing, combing, bathing, and drying of all coat types.
  • Nail Trimming and Ear Cleaning: Experience with nail trimming and ear cleaning.
  • Preparatory Hair Trimming: Ability to execute preparatory hair trimming.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide high-level customer service.
  • Pet Salon Equipment: Experience with pet salon equipment handling and maintenance.
  • Safety and Sanitization: Familiarity with safety and sanitization protocols.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Ability: Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully.
  • Attendance: Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
