Job Description

At Jennie Stuart Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Unit Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and supporting the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides personal hygiene care for patients as needed, including assisting with showers and baths.

• Assists with activities of daily living, including meals, ambulation, and providing fresh water and scheduled snacks.

• Performs vital sign checks, specimen collection, and post-mortem care as required.

• Provides comfort and support to patients, working effectively as a team member to deliver care and assist in the orientation of new employees.

• Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and colleagues, transporting patients and equipment as necessary.

• Responds promptly to patient call lights and requests, reporting observations to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.

• Demonstrates dependability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance, while maintaining good working relations among all nursing unit personnel and other hospital employees through effective communication.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.

• Successful completion of Nurse Aide course or equivalent.

• Current certification as a Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) and BLS Certification-American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider).
