Job Summary:

To provide high-quality patient care, the successful candidate will assist licensed personnel in delivering exceptional care to patients in the Behavioral Health Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient personal hygiene needs, including showers and baths as required.
  • Provide support with activities of daily living, such as assisting with meals and ambulation as needed.
  • Perform vital sign checks, I&O, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
  • Ensure patient comfort needs are met.
  • Work effectively as a team member to deliver care and assist in the orientation of new employees.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and colleagues.
  • Promptly respond to patient call lights and requests.
  • Report observations of patients to the nurse for professional assessment.
  • Instill confidence in patients by maintaining a neat and clean appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
  • Show dependability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance.
  • Maintain good working relations among nursing unit personnel and other hospital employees through effective communication.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Nurse Aide course or equivalent.
  • Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) certification.
  • BLS Certification-American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) Required. Must be current.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Handle with Care experience.
  • Experience as Mental Health Technician.
