Senior Montessori Educator

GondrecourtleChâteau, Grand Est, United States Guidepost Montessori Full time
Are you a dedicated Early Childhood Educator with a passion for nurturing young minds towards greater autonomy? If this resonates with you, consider joining our mission to enhance the availability of authentic Montessori education for children globally.
We are currently seeking a Senior Educator for our Children's House (ages 3-6) classroom as we expand our Montessori school network.

Seize the chance to inspire 3 to 6-year-olds to develop independence, self-assurance, and a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.
Your Responsibilities

We are in search of a passionate and committed Lead Educator to facilitate a mixed-age group of preschool children within a Montessori framework.

In a Montessori setting, educators meticulously design an environment that promotes independence and engages a child's curiosity. They offer tailored support to each child, working with them individually and in small groups, demonstrating the use of materials and guiding them through activities with precise language to enhance their understanding.

Thanks to the thoughtfully arranged environment and personalized assistance, children in a Montessori classroom enjoy significant freedom to explore and engage with materials of their choosing for extended periods. Most importantly, this support and these resources empower every child to cultivate skills, confidence, and a strong belief in their capabilities.

We seek a Lead Educator who will dedicate their efforts to help every child achieve their utmost potential.

Key Responsibilities of Children's House Lead Educators:
  • Carefully observe each child to understand and address their physical, intellectual, and emotional needs.
  • Create a beautiful, organized environment that encourages focus, independence, and profound learning.
  • Foster independence and self-esteem by encouraging children to 'do it all by themselves.'
  • Deliver individual and small-group lessons to support each child's growth in practical skills, literacy, mathematics, and beyond.
  • Build personal relationships with each child and nurture a community of respect.
  • Engage in respectful communication and collaboration with parents to provide optimal support for every child.
The Montessori Prepared Environment

Every classroom at Guidepost is equipped with a comprehensive range of high-quality Montessori materials tailored for the Children's House curriculum, along with a budget for educators to personalize their spaces. Each classroom is arranged according to Montessori principles of beauty and order, designed to enable every child to learn, concentrate, and confidently achieve their independence.

A Guidepost Montessori Children's House environment includes:
  • Child-sized furniture and ample floor space for independent or small group work.
  • Practical life materials that allow children to engage in activities such as sweeping, setting the table, dusting, and meal preparation.
  • A curriculum focused on independence, including dressing, feeding, and caring for their environment.
  • Scientifically designed, hands-on learning materials that foster core knowledge in mathematics, literacy, science, and more.
  • All materials are accessible to children on low shelves, with art displayed at their level.
  • Cozy reading nooks, real plants, and abundant natural light.
  • Delicate items made from natural materials like wood, metal, and glass instead of plastic.
If you are passionate about equipping children with the tools for success, eager to collaborate with parents on their child's educational journey, and looking to join a supportive community of colleagues, the team at Guidepost Montessori would be excited to connect with you.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Interest in pursuing certified Montessori training through our Prepared Montessorian Institute (fully-sponsored) or possession of a Montessori diploma for ages 3-6.
  • One or more years of experience working with children ages 3-6 in group settings such as daycare, aftercare, or preschool.
  • Familiarity with child-led educational philosophies such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori, or a willingness to learn more.
  • CDA (preferred).
What We Offer:
  • The opportunity to contribute to a high-quality Montessori program tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Sponsored Montessori diploma and ongoing professional development through the Prepared Montessorian Institute.
  • 75% tuition discount for two children at any school in our network (serving children from 3 months to 12th grade).
  • A network of supportive peers and mentors who value your contributions and regularly share best practices.
  • Abundant opportunities for career growth and advancement.
  • A competitive salary.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
