Job Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for assessing the needs of students with communication challenges and implementing effective strategies to provide support across various educational environments, including both general and specialized classrooms.

Role Responsibilities:

The SLP will:
  • Evaluate and address speech sound disorders, language issues, fluency, and other communicative disorders.
  • Develop and maintain Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze student progress through data collection.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance educational initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills in service delivery.

Work Environment:

The position is based in a variety of educational settings with a moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to:
  • Engage in sitting, walking, and using hands frequently.
  • Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Exhibit specific vision capabilities including close and distance vision.

Position Details:

This is a full-time role requiring 193 days of service, with a standard workday of 7.5 hours. The position involves travel within designated areas for educational assignments.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess:
  • A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • A valid Pennsylvania Department of Education Certificate in Speech-Language Impaired PK-12.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

Knowledge and Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
  • Expertise in Pennsylvania and Federal Special Education Regulations.
  • Clinical skills to support diverse communicative needs.
  • Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in technology and Augmentative-Alternative Communication.
