Job Overview

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to maintain the integrity of all building systems, operate the building in an efficient manner, and provide various tenant services.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently operate, maintain, and repair all building systems, including HVAC, water treatment, electrical, lighting, plumbing, energy management, fire protection, structural, hardware, and keying.
  • Install, fabricate, construct, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical and electrical equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Receive work assignments, plan tasks, and obtain necessary tools, equipment, and materials to complete assignments on time.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of equipment being serviced and employ service procedures and techniques indicative of first-class work.
  • Follow inspection and service procedures outlined in the preventative maintenance and loss control programs.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment, power tools, and hand tools, as well as the care of assigned equipment, tools, and uniforms.
  • Keep the shop, equipment rooms, and common areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow operational and safety procedures.
  • Inspect all areas of the building(s) and report deficiencies and suggestions for improvement.
  • Be available for various shifts and extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate building coverage and perform necessary repairs.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies, such as fire, flooding, severe weather, power outages, and other situations, including clean-up activities.
  • Project a positive appearance and attitude at all times and demonstrate exemplary tenant relations, team spirit, and respect for others.
  • Pursue employee development objectives recommended by the Chief Engineer, Operations Manager, Lead Engineer, and/or Property Manager.
  • Provide technical support to the Chief/Lead Engineer or Operations Manager.
  • Assist in monitoring contractors, inspecting work, and generating deficiency lists.
  • Assist in the technical training and upgrading of skills of less qualified personnel.
  • Assist the Chief/Lead Engineer in monitoring and implementing OSHA requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive training and certification in HVAC or Operations Engineering Technologies, and/or equivalent job-related training and experience.
  • Licenses for applicable jurisdictions and equipment, including CFC training and certification for the type of equipment serviced.
  • Minimum of 1 year of field experience.
  • Continuing education in the field.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills necessary to operate Building Automation Systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA, NEC, and NFC codes and regulations.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, reaching, and using arms to perform tasks.
  • Frequently required to sit, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, balance, and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs., and occasionally required to lift/move 50+ lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

This position is 100% in-office, requiring standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not an option for this position.
