Job Title: DEI Staff Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a DEI Staff Specialist. This is a full-time, temporary position with a competitive hourly rate of $27-29 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all programming and activities for Diversity and Inclusion and Office of the President, including logistics, evaluations, data collection, communications, and advertising.
  • Support and connect core-identity based Employee Resource Groups by sharing events and resources across the campus.
  • Work with campus leadership and others to build relationships and partnerships advancing DEIB campus-wide initiatives.
  • Provide technical coaching, education, and consultation to the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer to leverage social media and current applications to achieve goals and impact diversity and inclusion outcomes.
  • Evaluate and assess programs through benchmarking, researching models for services, and performing data-gathering activities for program and service development.
  • Compile, analyze, and suggest next steps based on internal Inclusion and Diversity Survey feedback and DEI data.
  • Develop tracking strategies to monitor and evaluate the impact and ROI of programs, and build dashboards and reports on program effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the creation of promotional materials and marketing to enhance internal and external stakeholder awareness of Babson College as a leader in college DEIB initiatives.
  • Represent the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at internal and external meetings, and events, and manage related non-managerial issues in their absence as needed.
  • Support committees and workgroups as appropriate, including the DEI Trustee Committee, the DEI&B Committee, MLK Legacy Day Committee, Juneteenth Committee, and external committees as required.
  • Serve as a trusted team member to the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer.
  • Perform multiple administrative responsibilities as required, including monitoring shared email, scheduling meetings, and preparing presentations for committees, meetings, and conferences.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, tracking projects through clear and concise status and time management reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or related experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, faculty, and other constituencies.
  • Previous experience managing projects.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A, take thoughtful risks, and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change, demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks, and be flexible in changing conditions.
