Job Summary:

As a Senior Surgical Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Under the direct supervision of our experienced surgical team, you will assist in preparing patients for surgery, maintaining equipment, and providing expert support during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and preparing equipment
  • Maintain and check equipment for sterility, cleanliness, and functionality
  • Assist in setting up and using equipment during procedures
  • Coordinate the allocation of equipment for procedures on a daily basis
  • Assist in scrubbing and gowning procedures
  • Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and circulating nurses
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
  • Clean and sterilize equipment
  • Recommend guidelines for equipment use and purchase
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Surgical Technicians certified by the Association of Operating Room Technicians
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Surgical Technology
  • Experience with minimally invasive, general, ENT, eyes, plastics, orthopedics, vascular, open heart-thoracic, spine, urology, GYN, podiatry, maxillofacial, and neuro surgery specialties
