Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and preparing equipment
  • Maintain a sterile environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and surfaces
  • Provide expert support to surgeons and nurses during procedures, including handing instruments and supplies
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety
  • Participate in room turnover and cleaning to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Surgical Technology
  • Experience with minimally invasive, general, ENT, eyes, plastics, orthopedics, vascular, open heart-thoracic, spine, urology, GYN, podiatry, maxillofacial, and neuro surgery specialties
