We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Surgical Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for providing expert support and assistance to our surgical team before, during, and after surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team in preparing for and conducting surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Provide expert support and assistance to the surgical team during procedures, including handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
- Coordinate the configuration of equipment to ensure ease of use and optimal performance.
- Assist with the allocation of equipment for procedures on a daily basis.
- Participate in the scrub role, including scrubbing arms and hands and donning gown and gloves.
- Assist with the setup and use of equipment during procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation per hospital policy.
- Clean and sterilize equipment.
- Recommend guidelines for the use of equipment, purchase of new/replacement equipment, additional parts and supplies.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
- Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
- Certification in Surgical Technology.
- Video, orthopedic, and other specialized equipment experience.
