Global Account Director, Consumer Vertical Lead

The Global Account Director will play a crucial role in managing and growing a portfolio of key global accounts in the Consumer and Retail industry. This position requires a strategic thinker who can drive revenue growth, develop account strategies, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Cross sell throughout all three divisions in DSV, Air & Sea/Road/Solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at assigned global accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and increase revenue within assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational excellence and timely resolution of customer issues.
- Prepare and present business reviews and performance reports to clients and DSV management.
- Conduct regular account planning and review meetings with the team.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
- Leverage vertical knowledge, insights, and skills into account work.
- Establish a strong collaboration with the account executives.
- Commercial single point of contact for the account on a day-to-day basis.
- Act as central escalation point for commercial, operational and contractual issues (including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Accounts Receivable (AR)).
- Identify and resolve operational challenges of importance to customer in collaboration with the divisions.
- Coordinate with executive and operational teams across divisions and locations.
- Drive pipeline management incl. collection and maintenance of opportunities and awards (e.g., in CRM).
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales or account management in the transportation and logistics industry dealing with Consumer and Retail customers.
- Experience managing global accounts and developing account strategies is required.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience working in a multinational corporation is preferred.
- Travel required, both domestically and some international.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. MSD/Salesforce) is preferred.
The expected base pay for this position is: $115,000 - $172,000 per year. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
