ROLE OF A CHILD WELFARE CASE COORDINATOR
- Investigating reports of child maltreatment and neglect
- Evaluating child safety and potential risks
- Conducting interviews and collecting pertinent information
- Performing home visits with families and children
- Participating in legal proceedings
- Developing case plans and coordinating necessary staffing
- Writing professional reports and maintaining accurate records
- Managing cases within designated jurisdictions
- Utilizing specialized software for Child Welfare management
Flexibility in work hours may be necessary, including evenings, weekends, and overtime.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficiency in conflict resolution, counseling techniques, child development, and family dynamics is essential. Strong communication, observational, and time management skills are critical. The ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and ensure meticulous record-keeping is required.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CHILD WELFARE CASE COORDINATOR
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree OR four years of experience as a DCS Case Aide.
Possession of valid credentials such as a Fingerprint Clearance Card and Driver's License.
Successful completion of required training programs and assessments.
