Parenting Peer Specialist

As a Parenting Peer Specialist, you will work in the community to increase access to treatment and prevention activities for individuals with substance use disorder. You will provide peer outreach to identified residents, improve access to, participation in, and retention in evidence-based practices, and work collaboratively with other community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and engage community members with substance use disorder, including pregnant women, parents with SUD, and homeless individuals, to provide treatment and community-based services.
- Engage and assist individuals re-entering the community from the criminal justice and crisis systems, including hospitals, to participate in treatment for substance use disorder.
- Provide outreach in the community to educate and assist community members and stakeholders with navigating the full continuum of care related to opioid misuse, abuse, and dependency.
- Assist members in fulfilling court obligations, including community service, treatment, and Department of Child Safety (DCS) requirements.
- Collaborate with other grant recipients and community stakeholders to coordinate outreach efforts and support.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High School/GED + 2 years' behavioral health experience or graduation from Peer Support training within one year of employment.
- Must have first-hand knowledge of a behavioral health condition or substance abuse issue, having received treatment or medication personally or identify as a family member of someone in recovery.
- Valid Arizona Driver's license and Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Current 1st Aid and CPR certification.
- Level One Fingerprint Clearance card.
