Position Overview
SAIC is seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator to enhance our Command and Control System and Single Mobility System (SMS) operations. This role is integral to our IT Service Management efforts, providing essential support to ensure the seamless functioning of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Administer and maintain network servers and virtualization systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Install, configure, and manage operating systems and application software, with a focus on Windows environments.
- Proactively monitor system availability and performance, addressing vulnerabilities and implementing necessary remediation measures.
- Collaborate with vendors and IT personnel to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including government service owners and network technicians, to meet evolving requirements.
- Conduct server administration tasks, including user management, security permissions, and resource monitoring.
- Implement patch management strategies to maintain system security and software currency.
- Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate routine server maintenance and keep accurate records of the enterprise server infrastructure.
- Provide on-call support and ensure 24/7 system availability during both regular and off-hours.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
- A DoD Secret clearance or higher.
- At least one IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
- One Computing Environment certification related to Network support or Operating Systems.
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage end-to-end problem resolution.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
This position offers a competitive salary range based on experience and qualifications.
