Inventory Control Accountant

Position Overview
The Inventory Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role within the Campbell Soup Company's Supply Chain Accounting & Control team. This position is responsible for overseeing inventory accounting and controls across various manufacturing and distribution facilities within a designated region.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze transactions throughout the supply chain to resolve discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Coordinate annual inventory counts, providing training and support to warehouse staff to maintain precision in inventory management.
- Collaborate with operational teams and distribution centers to investigate and rectify inventory variances.
- Establish and uphold compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare journal entries related to inventory accounting, including reserves, freight, and storage accruals.
- Engage in monthly closing activities for assigned plants.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on SAP inventory transaction flows, ensuring data integrity and understanding interactions with other systems.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.
- Support future system upgrades and the integration of additional business units into the SAP environment.
Travel Requirements
This position may require up to 25% travel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience with SAP and Oracle systems is preferred.
- Background in a manufacturing environment with inventory management is advantageous.
