Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled individual to fill the role of Replenishment Buyer within our corporate office.
This role entails managing orders from designated suppliers of irrigation, drainage, and landscape products to ensure optimal stock levels at both distribution centers and branch locations. The objective is to guarantee product availability in alignment with market demands.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and reasoning abilities, along with excellent interpersonal skills, as this position involves collaboration with sales teams, branch managers, corporate staff, and suppliers. Proficiency in computer applications and Excel is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate, submit, and oversee supplier purchase orders to maintain stock levels according to established inventory turnover requirements.
- Track open purchase orders and maintain communication with suppliers.
- Monitor back orders and proactively engage with suppliers and sales teams to fulfill orders.
- Evaluate replenishment strategies based on supplier logistics, sales data, and inventory turnover, providing recommendations as necessary.
- Ensure the accuracy of delivery and pricing information by reviewing supplier documentation.
- Address and resolve discrepancies in receiving and invoicing in collaboration with suppliers and the accounting department.
- Maintain item integrity by ensuring proper entry of new and substitute parts.
- Process and assess special orders to comply with supplier agreements, terms, and pricing.
- Review and assist with branch transfer requests as needed.
- Offer collaborative insights and support during annual planning with sales regarding stocking strategies by location.
- Assist in the administration of annual supplier programs.
- Monitor supplier performance and communicate any changes or concerns.
- Oversee slow-moving inventory and facilitate inventory realignment across locations.
- Manage supplier returns effectively.
- Uphold company purchasing policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, purchasing, or inventory control.
- Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in basic arithmetic and percentages.
- Exceptional organizational, documentation, and follow-up capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a talent for building and maintaining relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- A strategic mindset, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, with experience in inventory management software.
