Manufacturing Engineer Intern

American Air Filter Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support our manufacturing processes and operations. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in optimizing production efficiency, improving quality, and implementing innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Production Processes: Assist in analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to production metrics, including throughput, cycle time, and yield, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct root cause analysis of defects and develop corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen events to streamline processes and drive operational excellence.
- Equipment Maintenance: Work with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and ensure equipment reliability to minimize downtime.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and project updates. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality, and supply chain to achieve project objectives and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools;
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, principles, and methodologies is a plus;
- Prior internship or coursework experience in manufacturing or engineering is preferred.
