Job Overview:
- Oversee and assist in enterprise Unified Communications (UC) initiatives; deliver engineering and architectural support for VoIP, VTC, and DVTC systems.
- Exhibit a profound technical acumen for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Provide mentorship and assistance to junior engineers, administrators, and technicians as required.
- Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to resolve technical challenges.
- Utilize established escalation protocols and personal judgment to ensure prompt issue resolution.
- Address escalated service requests from the Service Desk.
- Participate in on-call shift rotations with fellow department members.
- Implement and troubleshoot VOIP hardware, including Cisco UC solutions.
- Manage deployment and troubleshooting of VOIP applications such as Jabber, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and Cisco Unity Connection (CUC).
- Accountable for managing intricate and/or high-stakes programs, without engaging in other roles.
- Supervise assigned technical personnel, including subordinate managers.
- Establish cutting-edge methodologies for designing, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting complex computer operating hardware systems.
- Design UC/VoIP operating and hardware systems; develop system concepts, specific requirements, and implementation strategies.
- Identify and guide the resolution of complex hardware/software interface challenges; serve as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies; oversee the creation of UC/VoIP systems specifications and technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of all components of complex hardware/software UC/VoIP systems, including requirements gathering, analysis, and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing operational concepts and interface standards, creating UC/VoIP system architectures, and performing both technical and non-technical assessments as well as end-to-end flow analysis.
- Conduct and/or authorize comprehensive system trade analyses to enhance UC/VoIP system operations throughout its lifecycle by balancing non-functional performance areas.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field; an additional four years of experience may substitute for the degree.
- A minimum of six (6) years of pertinent experience in addition to educational qualifications.
- Must hold current DoD 8570 IAT II and CCNP (or equivalent) certifications.
- Experience in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment is preferred.
- Active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
