The Attorney Development and Recruitment Department at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP plays a vital role in shaping the careers of attorneys within the firm. This team is responsible for creating and implementing initiatives that foster growth, development, and recruitment of top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

Attorney Development:

  • Provide guidance and support to attorneys in resolving concerns and issues, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and tools.
  • Coordinate and manage the department's calendar, identifying potential conflicts and ensuring seamless execution of events.
  • Oversee meeting and program logistics, including scheduling, room setup, and material preparation.
  • Assist in coordinating first-year associate programs, firm-wide training, and diversity initiatives.

Recruitment:

  • Coordinate interview programs and 1L events, including attendee management and candidate materials preparation.
  • Schedule interviews for law students and lateral attorneys, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Provide exceptional candidate experience, greeting and escorting visitors to the firm.
  • Support the summer program, including event planning, training, evaluation gathering, and budget tracking.
  • Maintain applicant tracking databases and recruitment spreadsheets as needed.

General:

  • Assist department management with various projects and initiatives.
  • Represent the firm at attorney functions, embodying the company culture and values.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including budget tracking, department correspondence, file maintenance, and data entry.
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with a background in Survey Monkey
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Professional demeanor
