Job Summary

DANIEL DEFENSE LLC is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely receipt of goods and services from our suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Supply Chain Management: Analyze purchased requirements data to effectively communicate priorities and ensure on-time delivery of purchased goods and services.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Communicate with suppliers to continuously improve on-time performance and simplify the supply chain, fostering relationships while ensuring accountability.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor open order reports, supplier forecasts, and shipping schedules to coordinate the timely receipt of goods and services, communicating schedule changes and tracking information.
  • Return and Receiving: Coordinate the return of non-conforming material or services by obtaining RMA's, creating return purchase orders, and working with the shipping department for timely return.
  • MRP and Purchase Order Management: Work with purchasing agents to ensure MRP purchase receipt dates match supplier schedules, assisting with updating purchase order dates systematically.
  • Shortage and Planning: Participate in shortage discussions and planning meetings to align planned deliveries with Supply Chain constraints.
  • Invoice Discrepancies: Assist with invoice discrepancies by calling suppliers for credit memos, revised invoices, and updating purchase orders with correct receipt quantities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Quality and Continuous Improvement: Work closely with Supplier Quality and vendors to discuss nonconforming material and services, assisting in the coordination of data for Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Supportive Role: Assist buyers with sourcing activities such as obtaining samples and shipping to suppliers.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing, or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical skills, great attention to detail, excellent record-keeping skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, self-motivated, and competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office.
  • MRP Experience: 2 years MRP experience required at a minimum, INFOR experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the work day, working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
