Role Overview:

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be the driving force behind quality excellence in a dynamic automotive setting, focusing on intricate machining processes and complex assembly operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between production and clients, ensuring that customer quality and regulatory standards are consistently met.
  • Oversee all quality-related tasks linked to new product launches within the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) framework.
  • Ensure timely completion of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) milestones.
  • Collaborate with clients to proactively address and resolve potential issues.
  • Prepare and submit PPAP documentation to clients, ensuring all requirements are fulfilled and records are maintained.
  • Understand and adhere to specific customer requirements as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with special characteristic specifications.
  • Act as a quality liaison and advocate for scorecard enhancement.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and risk assessments.
  • Utilize statistical analysis tools for effective problem resolution.
  • Facilitate the implementation of proactive quality initiatives, continuous improvement strategies, and preventative measures.
  • Manage reactive quality initiatives, including containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer-related issues.
  • Oversee quality metrics reporting and communication.
  • Drive improvements in First Pass Yield (FPY) and scrap reduction.
  • Mentor and coach team members and cross-functional groups in quality systems and methodologies.
  • Approve all product and process modifications to ensure alignment with customer expectations and maintain product integrity.
  • Monitor processes through audits and metrics to ensure product conformity.
  • Support external audits related to product specifications.
  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and gauging enhancements.
  • Engage in additional projects and priorities as assigned by the Plant Quality Manager.

Safety and Physical Requirements:

All employees are expected to understand and comply with safety policies and procedures. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas. Occasional lifting of items up to 35 lbs. at shoulder height is required.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Equivalent industry experience of 4+ years is also highly desirable.

Candidates should possess knowledge of manufacturing problem-solving techniques (8-D Methodology) and core quality tools, including Control Plans, Process Flow, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.

Strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Experience with Minitab for statistical analysis is preferred.

Trained Auditor status (IATF16949 preferred) and a solid understanding of IATF16949 standards are advantageous.
