Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Team Leader to join our team at BorgWarner. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to focus on continuous improvement activities relative to safety, quality, training, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement safety initiatives to create a proactive safety culture
  • Collaborate with team members to provide excellent quality to downstream customers and react quickly to quality issues
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with team members, support groups, and management
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and contribute to the improvement of processes and procedures
  • Assure that team members are properly trained and cross-trained
  • Work to eliminate bottlenecks and improve cycle time
  • Manage and maintain 5S and follow up on action items
  • Improve the efficiency of shift overlap and enforce signoffs and overlap duties
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of related Assembly experience preferred
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in fast-paced industrial lean environment
  • Basic computer knowledge
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to stand for long periods of time, including during operation of stand-up lifts, and lift shoulder-high up to 35 lbs. repetitively. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive motion activities is also required.
