Job Overview

The Gaming Equipment Service Specialist possesses a solid background in electronics, with a minimum of 2 years in a junior role or 3 years in a technical gaming environment. This role entails the servicing, installation, conversion, upgrade, and preventive maintenance of all AGS gaming devices across various locations. The position does not adhere to standard working hours, as tasks may arise at any time during a 24-hour period, including weekends and holidays. Reporting to the Regional Service Manager or Field Service Supervisor is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical training on installations, theme modifications, game software updates, and server enhancements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Join the advanced support team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct site assessments for new Class II or Class III locations and serve as the primary contact with internal technical teams for project requirements.
  • Contribute expertise to field service forums and document solutions for known issues.
  • Perform preventive and general maintenance on AGS gaming devices.
  • Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Identify replacement parts and their corresponding part numbers with ease.
  • Execute all gaming-specific work orders proficiently.
  • Complete site assessments for basic work orders.
  • Manage project activities for basic work orders.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of computer networking infrastructure.
  • Familiarize oneself with all AGS slot platforms and electronic table game equipment.
  • Possess a strong understanding of slot cabinet and table game configurations, capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting issues effectively.
  • Timely completion of reports and documentation.
  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation with fellow technicians.
  • Adhere to safety protocols established by AGS during work hours.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician I or 3 years in a technical gaming setting is required.
  • Must obtain licensing approval from tribal and/or state gaming authorities.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to utilize hand tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Provide technical support to Field Service Technician I.
  • Understand customer policies and procedures before executing work orders.
  • Advanced knowledge of AC/DC electronics.
  • Ability to use a multimeter for troubleshooting electrical problems.
  • Familiarity with networking using CAT5 and fiber optics.
  • High proficiency in multi-platform installations, upgrades, and theme changes.
  • Basic understanding of the distinctions between Class II and Class III gaming.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks regularly.
  • Regularly lift and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds and push/pull up to two hundred (200) pounds with or without assistance.
  • Regular exposure to bending, twisting, climbing, reaching, and squatting.
  • Frequent work near powered vehicles, power tools, and automated assembly equipment.
  • Regular use of manual and powered hand tools (electric, battery-operated, and/or air-powered).
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to operate a personal or work-assigned vehicle and drive long distances when necessary.

This position may require registration with relevant gaming control boards and jurisdictions.
