Job Summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a skilled Perinatal Health Educator to join our team. As a Perinatal Health Educator, you will provide instruction to new and expectant parents on various perinatal health issues. You will work with women of childbearing ages, utilizing a systematic approach to assess learning needs and expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize tour materials and content according to established curriculum and individual and group learning needs and expectations.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and class parent materials to promote positive interactions with staff members.
  • Exhibit a non-judgmental family-centered attitude at all times, drawing distinctions between personal beliefs or opinions, hospital policies, and scientific facts.
  • Promote safety during tours and classes, utilizing a variety of methods to continuously evaluate participants' comprehension.
  • Operate within the standards of practice as defined by departmental/hospital policies and professional organizations.
Qualifications
  • 2 years prior clinical and/or adult education experience.
  • 2 years experience in a position with demonstrated critical thinking, customer service, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of audiovisual equipment.
  • Certified to perform CPR by either American Heart Association or Medic First Aid, or must become certified within probationary period.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Education, related health field, or a national certification in area of expertise.
Work Hours

8:00AM-5:00PM
