Job Summary

The State of Kansas is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities Technician to join our team at Adair Acute Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential care and support to patients with mental health and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic care and assistance to patients with daily living needs, including personal and oral hygiene, clothing care, and room care.
  • Encourage proper nutrition and other assistance as needed through observation and documentation of patient outcomes.
  • Respond to patients in distress and provide physical support as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to provide efficient and effective customer service.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through a positive, helpful, and courteous demeanor.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License preferred.
  • Previous experience working with patients with mental health and developmental disabilities preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires physical strength to frequently push, pull, twist, bend, squat, walk, stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or restrain residents with or without assistance. Must be able to observe and respond to residents in distress.
