General Purpose of the Role:

The RF Electrical Engineer IV is responsible for testing and repairing RF medical devices utilizing dielectric heating/microwave technology within the 6.7 MHz frequency range. This role also involves working with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.

In this capacity, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including the creation of electrical test fixtures, development and execution of test plans, documentation of test results, and troubleshooting at the component level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer III.
  • Possess over 8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, particularly with RF-enabled devices and control system software.
  • Design, develop, modify, and assess electronic components, parts, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
  • Determine design methodologies and parameters, analyze equipment to establish operational data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Select components and equipment based on specification analysis and reliability. Review vendor capabilities to support product development.
  • Act as a recognized authority in electrical engineering, demonstrating a profound understanding of industry trends and best practices.
  • Lead the strategic direction and vision for the electrical engineering function, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on complex and high-impact electrical engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to identify and address organizational challenges and opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop the electrical engineering team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Represent the company as a technical expert, engaging with customers, partners, and industry leaders.
  • Exhibit exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, and change management capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs throughout the product development cycle and mentor junior engineers on proper GMP usage and quality procedures.
  • Review performance specifications and engineering concepts, providing recommendations regarding feasibility and production costs.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, not exceeding 10% of the time.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
  • May lead small to large-scale projects or initiatives.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as required.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (BS) in electrical engineering or equivalent; or eight or more years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, schematics, interconnect assembly, and part drawings or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Physical Demands:

With or without reasonable accommodation, minimal time will be spent walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Some time will be spent standing, sitting, talking, and hearing, as well as using hands to handle, feel, and reach. At times, lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Work Environment:

Minimal time will be spent in wet or humid conditions, and near caustic or toxic chemicals. Some time will be spent working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderate (e.g., business offices with computers and printers).
