About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Dorman Products. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. This role will involve reviewing and evaluating work environments, designing programs and procedures to control and prevent disease or injury, and ensuring compliance with OSHA policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and oversee training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in managing a safe work environment that meets facility safety goals.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans to ensure compliance with OSHA policies and procedures.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to leadership on safety compliance and company policies.
  • Oversee hazard/risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and deficiencies.
  • Administer training on company-specific and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Participate in the development of reports and documentation related to safety activities.
  • Maintain compliance and training documentation in corporate EHS systems.
  • Collaborate with other safety representatives on organizational initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources department on worker's compensation, Employee Return to Work Program, and restricted duty policy execution.
Requirements
  • Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Physical requirement: capability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Working conditions: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or related scientific or technical field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in organizational safety and employee health programs or 1+ years managing health and safety programs.
  • Previous experience with Job Safety Analysis and Ergonomics preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, and NIOSH rules and regulations.
