Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, work within the nursing process to ensure high-quality patient care, and collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medication, performing tests and procedures, and documenting clinical findings.
- Work within the nursing process to ensure high-quality patient care, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
- Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel, and assume relief charge duties when designated.
- Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures, and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner.
- Education: Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, Bachelor's Degree (non-essential).
- Experience: No minimum experience required.
- Credentials: RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification w/in 6 months, Basic Arrhythmia Cert w/in 1 year.
This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
This position also requires working in a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards.
