Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in Cardiac Surgery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality surgical services.

Responsibilities
  • Formulate and implement medical plans of care for acute management of surgical patients
  • Assist with evaluation and triage of emergency room patients
  • Provide direct clinical services for surgical patients according to established protocols
  • Perform patient work-up, including history and physical examination, and ordering of laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
  • Assist with operative procedures, including endoscopic vein and radial artery harvest, femoral vessel exposure, cannulation and repair, and first and second assisting
  • Transport and initial care of the operative patient in the recovery room
  • Complete daily hospital work rounds, including pre and post operations, and charting of progress notes
  • Dictate discharge summaries, chart rounds, staffing conference summaries, and consults as directed by service needs
  • Participate in the care of off-service patients as indicated by consulting physician request
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in clinical nursing from an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current Registered Nurse and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Michigan
  • Requires graduation from an ARC-PA accredited PA program
  • Current License/Certification as Physician Assistant with the State of Michigan
  • Surgical experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate
