Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Per Se Group is collaborating with a client in Houston, Texas, seeking a mid-level Environmental Scientist specializing in Wetland Delineation throughout the Houston Area.

  • Developing project scope, preparing budgets, creating proposals, and managing client communications to ensure clear and effective relationship-building.
  • Coordinating project meetings, providing strategic problem-solving, and overseeing invoicing processes to maintain timely and accurate billing cycles.
  • Ensuring the successful completion of project tasks within designated timeframes, maintaining a high standard of quality in all deliverables.
  • Supporting team efforts through effective delegation and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for projects, handling external meetings, and addressing project scope, progress, and environmental clearance strategies.
  • Simultaneously managing multiple projects while adhering to established project management protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Leading fieldwork for mitigation and restoration projects, ensuring compliance with agency requirements.
  • Conducting ecological modeling data acquisition for basic assessments, interpreting data, and preparing and reviewing technical reports.
Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading standard wetland delineations, preparing technical reports, conducting quality reviews, and defending findings to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
  • Conducting habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species, producing detailed technical reports.
  • Overseeing Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) data collection and preparing/signing technical reports as an Environmental Professional (EP).
  • Directing tree surveys, fieldwork, and subsequent technical report preparation.
  • Guiding clients through the USACE permitting process, including Nationwide Permits, Individual Permits, and other navigation-related permits, providing strategic advice on compliance and permitting.
  • Preparing NEPA documentation, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements for various federal and state agencies.
  • Conducting species-specific field surveys, preparing associated reports, and coordinating with agencies for the protection of state or federally listed species.
  • Preparing Biological Evaluations and Biological Assessments for Section 7 Consultations, coordinating with relevant wildlife agencies.
  • Leading submerged aquatic resource assessments, preparing technical reports, and conducting quality reviews.
  • Developing basic permittee-responsible mitigation plans and overseeing their construction and monitoring.
