Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automated Equipment Operator to join our team at Sika. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for operating a variety of automated equipment, including forklifts, automated guided vehicles, and pick pods, to ensure the efficient receipt and shipment of raw materials, operating supplies, and finished product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in Sika's safety and housekeeping programs to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Use automated systems to pull finished product from inventory, assemble orders, and prepare for shipment in accordance with company policy and customer requests.
  • Select, pack, and wrap product to be shipped using pick pod and conveyor systems.
  • Diagnose and clear errors on automated equipment using a computer, PLC, or HMI (Human Machine Interface).
  • Comply with all lock out/tag out operations in accordance with operating automated equipment and autonomous forklifts, including area access control systems.
  • Receive inbound material, including finished product from other locations, raw materials, operating supplies, and equipment, and transfer to appropriate storage locations.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload trucks and transport materials between departments and buildings when support is needed.
  • Count and examine raw materials, supplies, and finished product to verify completeness against appropriate documents and maintain records of shortages, damages, and other exceptions.
  • Match material against bills of lading and advise Manager or Team Lead of discrepancies.
  • Use bar code scanner and camera systems to achieve inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain work location in excellent condition to comply with company policies for safety and housekeeping.
  • Perform cycle counts and other inventory verification as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or distribution fulfillment center environment, including at least 6 months experience in the operation of a forklift.
  • Operation of automated equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLC) operations, a plus.
