Role Overview

As the Electrical Engineering Team Lead, you will oversee a group of experts dedicated to the design and development of electrical power systems for lunar exploration vehicles. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping the future of space travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of electrical engineers, ensuring optimal performance through effective processes and tools.
  • Provide expert guidance in selecting appropriate architectures that align with mission objectives.
  • Conduct design risk assessments, including failure modes and effects analysis (FMECA), and ensure designs are optimized for testing and manufacturing.
  • Engage in technology development initiatives and enhance avionics processes to ensure mission success.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and challenges clearly to upper management.
  • Lead by example, fostering a strategic vision that inspires your team to contribute to Blue Origin's goals.
  • Mentor team members, offering opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Recruit and cultivate a diverse and inclusive team, ensuring equitable opportunities for all members.
  • Develop and implement strategies that align with Blue Origin's long-term objectives.
  • Ensure that your team is equipped with the necessary resources and training to meet project demands.
  • Promote and embody Blue Origin's leadership principles and culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing technical teams or leading functional groups.
  • At least 6 years of experience in relevant technical disciplines.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment while delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of the avionics development lifecycle.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships, contributing to an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
