Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Hospice of Hilo dba Hawaii Care Choices. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the ongoing support of field clinicians and patients, building on the community's resources to plan and direct services.
  • Conduct required follow-up to ensure initial records meet compliance expectations.
  • Provide clerical support to the hospice team, including scheduling weekly clinical visits and observing, recording, and reporting patient signs and symptoms.
  • Order DME based on patient condition and RN request, and assist in the coordination of care plans with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Deliver medication and equipment to patients' homes and set up equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent position.
  • Competent working knowledge/skills with Windows and Microsoft Office computer software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
