Job Summary

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing direct clinical care to meet the health needs of students, documenting and maintaining students' health information required by federal/state/local agencies, and providing appropriate care and referral for ill, medically fragile, and/or injured students as may be required. This position is coordinated through the Division of Student Programs and Services, Special Education unit, and monitored by the school nurse.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
    • Six months experience working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Experience working with school-age children is desirable.
  • EDUCATION:
    • Graduation from high school or GED; completion of all coursework in good standing from an accredited college or university required for that institution's Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
  • CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES:
    • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency
    • Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse license in good standing
    • Valid California driver's license
  • REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
    • CPR/First Aid Certification (Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency)
    • Letter of Introduction (Letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying)
    • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name, and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred)
    • Other (Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse license in good standing)
