Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Production Engineering group at NBCUniversal's Operations & Technology (O&T) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing production engineering projects, implementing changes, and supporting technology refresh and expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver on all project commitments and work closely with other internal engineering and production teams to ensure successful project launches.
  • Lead the creation of project documentation, including requirements, conceptual drawings, estimates, design drawings, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with on-site and remote technology vendors to develop and implement solutions to support live production control rooms, studios, graphics systems, replay systems, and other broadcast technologies.
  • Work with other members of the engineering and technical teams to execute projects, including working with internal stakeholders to create and update configuration documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of recent experience supporting live production, post-production, or master control environments.
  • Ability to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays with little or no notice, depending on production schedules.
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis.
  • Fluency in English (with fluency in Spanish desired).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise with a broad range of technologies, especially systems and technologies used for live production.
  • Dedication to building and maintaining a stable, high-performance technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of IP & SDI based infrastructures and software-based systems.
  • Expertise in enterprise systems, including broadcast and production hardware-based systems, virtualized systems, post-production, playout, and graphics production (live and non-live).
  • Ability to assist project initiatives, including capital planning, reporting on engineering progress, and execution of primary project initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, urgent priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior executives to business unit managers and third parties.
